English for Higher Education (Target Group: School Goers)
This program is designed for school-going students, especially those who sat O/L examination or A/L examination and awaiting results. who aspire to pursue higher education. English is the gateway to academic success in today’s globalized world, especially as many universities use English as the medium of instruction and require standardized tests to assessment of English language fluency for admission.
The course focuses on enhancing four core language skills—reading, writing, listening, and speaking—while building essential academic vocabulary, grammar, and study strategies. Special emphasis is given to reading comprehension, essay writing, research skills, and note-taking—skills critical for success in secondary school examinations and undergraduate programs.
Additionally, students will engage in group discussions, presentations, and writing exercises that simulate real academic tasks. They will be trained to think critically, express their opinions fluently, and interpret texts analytically. The course also familiarizes them with academic formats, referencing techniques, and scholarly communication.
By the end of the program, learners will be more confident in handling school assignments, public examinations, and university applications. Most importantly, they will be prepared to perform well in an English-speaking academic environment. With a strong foundation in English, students can broaden their horizons, apply for scholarships, and access global knowledge streams. This program is not just a language course, it is an investment in their future.
Methodology:
Challenging the traditional methodology, world-accepted principles of Teaching English as a Second Language, with modern laboratory facilities, will be adopted.
